Parque Tezozómoc is named after the ancient Tepanec ruler of what is now Azcapotzalco.
This park is one of the most important green spaces in northern Mexico City. Built in 1982 and spanning 28 hectares, it is one of the city’s most thoughtfully designed landscaping projects. Architect Mario Schjetnan drew inspiration from the ancient geography of the Valley of Mexico to create a scaled-down representation of the lake basin of Tenochtitlan.
Here you can enjoy a boat ride on the artificial lake, go for a bike ride, or hop on the little train that goes around the compound. The park also features an open-air venue, an outdoor gym, and a running track.
It is important you keep in mind that pets and motorcycles are not allowed inside.
